24/192 upgrade

Posted by: Mr Paws on 25 September 2017

Hi to all,

I'm thinking of buying a second hand Naim Uniti which is around 7 years old but it has 24/192khz printed near the Ethernet socket so does that mean it's had a 24/192 upgrade? I'm told it has been back to Naim for an upgrade so it can run the latest Naim App.

Cheers Guys

Hi I would say yes you can download a free sample from HD tracks and try it.

There is a better way to tell. This is a quote from a Naim Connections magazine:

"You can check if your product is 24/192 capable by entering the Setup menu using the front panel or remote control. Then go to Factory Settings > System Status and scroll to > BC SW. If the version number displayed starts ‘3D’ you have the latest hardware."

Best

If the seller will tell you the serial number, you can phone Naim, and they will be able to tell you it's service history. You should also make sure that you update the firmware if necessary, to get the full range of features.

Hi Guys,  I travelled to collect the Uniti rather than have it sent (nice day out) and the dealer had it out the box and there it was singing away 24/192 confirmed after being sent back to Naim,  and whilst there they carried out a service replaced a few things like the front Lovely green Naim logo and it’s now like new so we’ll done Naim,  the previous owner and the dealership.  Err,  Not too sure I can mention the dealer ?

Considering  the Uniti is seven years old it performs (and looks) as it would like new so I’m happy.

Thanks again for all your comments and advice.
