Issue with Naim app 5.8 iOS

I have a major problem with the Naim app 5.8 iOS.

 
I have a major problem with the Naim app v5.8 (iOS). When I initially installed the app (on my ipad 9.7 pro. iOS11) after the update came out, it stopped reading my playlists. The playlist were still there but there were no songs.  I did not have this issue with 5.7 (which was still on my phone).
 
Later I noted that if I played the songs on the playlist from my phone, the songs will then appear on my ipad naim app.
 
After I updated my iPhone naim app, everything became worse. Now none of my playlists have songs.  
 
When I try to create new playlists, the songs can be added BUT they will disappear if I close the app. For the songs to remain in the playlist, I have to play at least 1 song from the playlist. If an entire album is in the playlist, only 1 song from that album needs to be played. If there are more than 1 album in the playlist, a song from EACH album needs to be played.
 
Once the song is played it appears in the playlist. 
 
HOWEVER, once the application is closed. All the song disappear. 
 
I am using a Uniti Core.
 
Does anyone have this issue? I have reported this to Naim. Waiting for a response.

Yes this is a bug in 5.8 which has been reported to Naim developers. The playlists aren't corrupted so eventually once the bug is fixed you should be OK.

That's great to hear...should not have deleted my playlists...sigh....

[@mention:46478588067265635] A quick question for you, if you don't mind, David. Does the Core store playlists like the Unitiserve and other servers normally do, or does one have to use the Naim app to create them, and store them on the iOS device, as one does when using the app with a streamer?  Just curious as to how this now works, given that playlist issues seem to come up quite often.

i don't use Playlists myself but from what another member who does said in response to another report of this issue recently, I believe that the Core is the same in this respect as the Unitiserve.

Thanks David, just curious as the US doesn't use the Naim app to manage or store playlists, whereas the app is the only interface for the Core.

Yes I know but the Naim app differs in what it offers you depending on the device you are addressing. An obvious example is that you don't get a ripping monitor on a streamer but you do on the Core! So the Core interface in the app can do whatever Naim wanted. Anyway maybe another Core user will confirm.

Richard, same here playlists and favourite albums and artist etc keep disappearing since the last couple of updates seems intermittent.

The is new update. V5.8.1. It doesn’t appear to have fixed the issue.
