Core supports "Apple File system" (HFS) for internal and external locally attached storage.
Apple has started the big move to APFS, which is a new file system. IOS has already gone, High Sierra OSX has it for most machines.
Is Core going to languish on HFS or is there going to be updated support for APFS?
IE if the reason for offering formatting support for Apple file systems is that it is expected that you can take an external USB drive formatted on a MAc and connect it directly to Core, then it requires Core to support APFS.

Hmm, one would hope Naim have had this conversation already.
However, I suspect it will take time to implement unless its 'fitted for but not with' whilst forums heave with groaning early adopters woes.

Rest assured we are aware of APFS and have been following it's development since the WWDC 2016 announcement.
As of writing, Apple have not released enough technical details for 3rd parties to implement direct support for APFS. While it is unlikely that Apple will ever release Linux support for APFS, once it is open sourced third parties including Naim can evaluate it for use with their products.
You can still use APFS if you run a UPnP server from your Mac or share a network disk via Samba (Mac only).

ok but as people move to APFS, they might well end up using it on external USB which they might plug into Core/Uniti and we need a graceful rejection. (I havent tried it, my core is boxed up)
