Uniti Star won’t play CD

I inserted a CD Into my Star, while listening to Internet Radio, and noticed that the Rip/Place screen failed to appear. I then tried to play the CD from the iOS app. The CD screen appeared but it would not play. I ejected the CD, put the Star into network standby mode and back on again and the player behaved normally. I tried several times with the same result - Is this normal behaviour (I must admit I rarely play CDs these days)?

Have you spoken to your dealer or to Naim technical support?

Very few of us here have played with a Star, which is why HH's question is pertinent.

But in general if it were me I would be wanting to see whether it was just this CD or all CDs that display this problem. And I would try a complete restart of the Star, not just putting it into network standby.

And, again I don't know the Star, but it will only rip if there is somewhere to store the rip. If it's set to rip with no music store defined then it won't work. So are you sure it's set to play CDs and not rip them?

Cheers, i will follow your advice. Invidentally:-

i) it’s CD Replay that is the issue (ripping works fine)

ii) all CDs produce the issue

iii) I have done a full power down of the Star, but it did not resolve the issue.

Just had a quick look at the support wizard on Naim's website.  It suggests to me that you have to start a CD playing with the remote and then you can control the playback from the Now Playing screen in the app. The fact they don't mention starting CD playback from the app suggests to me that you can't. But it could just be badly written instructions of course. Did you try to start playing the CD using the remote?
