Is anyone going to the Hi-Fi Show Live next weekend? 21st & 22nd Oct 17
Myself and Finkfan are going to attend....
We have not been to this particular Show before....
Any insight would be appreciated... Is it easy to find? park? ect ect..
Unless I missed something — there is no Naim...

Yes, their not on the list, but I always enjoy listening to brands I have not heard before, it's interesting to compare...
Went last year and thought it was pretty good. The hotel rooms are spaced out and pretty spacious so don't feel as squeezed in as Bristol.

We have been to the Bristol show a couple of times, and agree with you, quite a number of rooms are not much bigger then a broom cupboard....
Beware the Windsor in the title - the show is actually nearer Staines (J13) and is just beyond Runnymede. Very easy to access and park.

Many thanks, that's useful to know
Its a great day out for anyone into quality audio. The estate is vast, but parking is a pain. Saturday is less busy. You won't see it all in one day, but that's enough for me. Get there early and book ticket entry demos. Especially Absolute Sounds etc. Mike Valentine worth a visit. Naim may or not be there . Some source component's use their amps. Most use a laptop as source. LP12s as in hens teeth. Dare I say it, being a 500 system owner, but other manufacturers can make a really good sound. Beware of big speakers that can "drive the room" with too much bass even in really large rooms Their set up time is limited and mains quality is often rubbish.. Cam be played too loud for me. Some LP/vinyl bargains. Still worth a visit though.
Food OK but expensive. There is an all day Carvery his year. Toilets to right of Reception. Beats shopping at Asda on a Saturday or any day!

Very useful information, many thanks.
Will be going Saturday. Get there early for parking, otherwise there is a shuttle bus from the Nat Trust Runnymede site about a mile away.
Look forward to feedback, particularly on Kudos.
Due to unforseen circumstances myself and Finkfan will be attending tomorrow now, will certainly look out for the kudos demo room...
Looking forward to it Wenger. Early start tomorrow

Yes, up at the crack of dawn....
Just arrived at show, first room....excellent latte ..
The Wilson Alexa 2s sounded fantastic. But then should have at an eye watering £65k.
The Titan 707s sounded very good too
The Magico S5 sounded excellent too. Deep, powerful bass with a smooth midrange and a sweet top end. Well worth a listen if you have £50k to play with.
Best in show would be Wilson Alexa 2's, but they look hideous, next Magico S5 and they look great, followed by Titan 707..
I’d agree with that Wenger.
What were they driven by?

Wilson Alexa'2 were paired with Dan Agostino boxes, an American brand, prices start at about 25k a box, the boxes looked hideous along with the speakers but sounded superb.
Magico S5 were driven by a 500 watt amp, the name eludes me at the moment but I think it was in the 50k bracket.

Just everyday sort of stuff then?!

I suppose you would not have much change left out of 250k....it makes Naim boxes appear very well priced
Interesting commentary gents. Thanks. Always fancied a listen to Magico's for some reason

The Magico's were very impressive, they had a high class finish and nice on the eye.
