flat cap2 to power nap282?

i have a hicap plugged in. will at some point buy a supercap to run both upgrade sockets for 282

in the meantime does anyone know if i can plug my old flat cap 2 into the 2nd socket?

manual says i can add another hicap. and output and sockets look same as flat cap 2

??  confused :-)

thanks for looking

I’ve run a 282 from a flatcap 2x, I even tried it powering both upgrades but prefered the more diffuse presentation of using just one to the more precise but small scale effect of both upgrades from one flat cap. When I got a hicap the improvement was enough to forget about the flat cap in either arrangement. The flat cap did carry on powering my CD5x and with some improvement when relieved of the 282.

You could - it won't do the 282 harm but it won't be ideal. The power supplies need to be of the same type for best results - i.e. two Hicaps or two Flatcaps. I'd leave as is and go straight to the Supercap

tks fr the info. one more question. is the supercap a significant upgrade over the single hicap?

its a very pricey one! keen on opinions before make that investment. if had money to spend, perhaps better investing in an xps fr my cdx2? don't think can stretch to both :-(

Yes, the Supercap is a significant improvement over a single Hicap. That said, the 282 is excellent with a single hicap, and from my experience you’d be better adding an XPS to the CDX2 before thinking of Supercaps.

Double Hicaps are notoriously hard to match on a 282 and I agree with HUNGRYHALIBUT a Supercap would be better trade your HiCap and the FC in for a Supercap.
