Connect Naim

Posted by: vilco on 16 October 2017

Good morning,

this is my first post in your forum, and I'm very gratefull to write here.

I have got a Naim pre nac 112x + nap 150x + flatcap 2.

I want substitute the nac 112x with a new performing one preamplifier, at the moment I could proove a Nac 62 (olive series).

My question is:

Can I connect the nac 62 to the  nap 150x or to Flatcap2 ?

If I can, how to do it?

Best Regards

Yes.  You can connect the NAC62 directly to the NAP150x (here the NAP powers the NAC) via SNAIC4.  Make sure the 5 pin link plug is fitted to the NAC62.  Otherwise you can connect the NAC62 to the Flatcap 2 in the same way as the NAC112x, via SNAIC4 - remove the DIN5 link plug from the NAC62 and use that socket.  Then SNAIC5 from the Flatcap 2 to the NAP150x exactly as you have already.

Is a NAC 62 an improvement over the 112X?

Thanks for the answers.
I have a friend who makes me try the NAC 62
I'm especially interested phono input.
Compared to the 112x, I get an improvement?
Wich preamplifiers do you recommend me for my nap 150x to have a real improvement.

Thanks!

A NAC62 in good fettle can perform really well - better indeed in many respects than a NAC112x.  You do lose some facilities though and no remote control...

The NAC62 was a good pre-amp..........  in its day.  I'd be surprised if you would find it an improvement over the 112x with a stageline today.  I don't think I would want the cosmetic mismatch, either.

Thank you
I tried the nac 62 in my system and I have to say that much but much more prettier than the 112x
At this point I have to make a decision whether to buy a nac 62 or nac 72
Many Thanks for your help.
