Naim App

I'm using the Naim app to stream and have been for a number of years but I have recently noticed that the artwork (album cover) is not showing on new items I have recently added to my iTunes library. My Mac is up to date with the latest MACOS High Sierra version 10.13 and both my iPad and iPhone are also up to speed. Anyone able to offer a solution?

You’re going to need to provide more information here, such as what upnp server and streamer you are using. The App doesn’t stream anything; it’s just a dumb controller of the streamer and sees whatever the server serves. The latter is likely to be the source of the issue.

Assuming the artwork is there in iTunes if viewed on your Mac and not if viewed through the album view in the Naim app, then you could refresh the image cache in the Naim app, which you do through the gear wheel icon and then "Other settings".

Thank's both. Only today have I seen a NAIM App update which looks to correct the artwork not showing issue so they must be aware somethings not right which provides me with some confidence that it's not my side of things causing the problem. Trouble is that after updating the app it still refuses to carry over recently downloaded album covers so it's not resolved as of today.

I use a media sharing through software called Playback to stream from my pc to my ND5XS and that has worked well for many years. I have tried refreshing the cache but that has failed and I have totally re-installed the app which has also failed. Have also rebooted the Naim streamer but nothing does the trick.

Looks like I have to put my faith in whoever builds and maintain the app on behalf of Naim. Also surprised that others are not experiencing this!

The app is fine; it’s going to be something to do with how you are serving the files. That’s why there aren’t others raising it as an issue.

Don't know what's causing the issue here. Maybe good to check in what format the album art is stored and if the artwork is stored in the same folder. Also there are tools to tag your files including artwork, like mp3tag. Not just for mp3 mind you. Also you could do a rescan of your UPNP server.

Would be worth you calling Naim support to see if they have any ideas. Also you can report issues through the feedback option in the app and this does make sure that it gets to the developers.
