AUDIO PHYSIC CLASSIC 10

Posted by: av in bc on 28 October 2017

we're looking to change speakers after upgrading hicaps to DRs for a Supernait and stageline and a new arm and cart for the RP6.

i've been looking for a while and nothing has come up and now there's a pair of local 10s that i can kind of afford.
what i'm hoping for is that they are miles better than our Totem Hawks and not just different or a side move.
there is almost no info on these so research is tough and it's really hard to tell at the shop because it's not setup too well.
maybe someone here has some experience with them and could enlighten me.

all the playback is done with the RP6 and most of the music is in the prog-rock, rock, pop, 70's so guitars/drums/vocals/bass.
no much classical or Jazz.

I would imagine your totem hawks to be miles better than the classic 10s. Although have a good listen yourself.

Totem speakers are known for their appeal to the heart, whereas Audio Physic are more known to appeal to the head. Might depend on wether you'd rather tap your feet or nod your head

i did have a good listen and the totems ARE a lot better and they were also better than the A6rs and the sx1s.
the only speakers that i kind of liked were the Martin Logans but primarly because of the low end, nice heavy clean but then
again it's really a sub-woofer with a panel on it. the high mids on the logans were really grinding and fatiguing,
i couldn't wait to turn down the volume. it was basically very close to distorting, that bass though!
