I used to use the SN2 HC pre with a 250.2 which I preferred to SN2 HC alone. This being a transitory stage as using an integrated as a pre seems a bit unnecessary.

The overriding factor is choice of speakers. Bear in mind I was looking for the best way to drive Neat Momentums and the 250.2 was better at bringing them to life. It's a great amp despite what some say, with many strengths. The DR version has a different personality.

i now use a 250dr with the 282 which works well.

So, if you like to upgrade in stages the 250dr could be a way to go. Or possibly a 250.2 might be more gentle on the bank balance!

wouldn't recommend it. Not much to be gained - maybe you'd be better off biamping with sn2 and a 200?

Search for Finkfan's recent journey. If my recollection is correct, he had a SN and 250DR with the view to get a 282, but then went for a 272 and abandoned his beloved silver spinner. Worth a read really!

I have just ordered a 250DR to go with my recently acquired 272. Replacing a Linn Akurate DSM and Akurate 2200. The Linn is a great piece of Hi-Fi but Naim isn’t Hi-Fi... it’s more than that.

Yes I agree. Ordering my 250dr next week also 3 month wait I was told.  I do prefer to use cd so nac282 I will go.

Using SN2 with a HiCap DR and NAP 250DR - it's a stop gap before a nice 552 comes along...
