Venus & Jupiter 'As One' in Rare Conjunction

Posted by: Mike-B on 11 November 2017

A rare treat:   If the dawn sky on Monday 13 Nov is clear & it is forecast to be clear over all England & Wales,  Scotland & NI have light cloud & maybe a few breaks.   Venus & Jupiter will rise showing in very close conjunction.  They rise 1.4 hours before the Sun & if you leave it too late then the sky will be too bright to see them.  Twilight will be a good time;  around 06:35 in the south,  06:50 in the north of England & after 07:00 for Scotland & NI.

I normally leave home about 07:00 these days, but I shall return to my old habit of 06:15 for Monday.

Many thanks Mike.

Quite a sight.  It was partially obscured by trees from my garden.  A trip to the top of the hill with wide open views over to the Chilterns on a crystal clear twilight morning was worth it even without the two planets.

It  was lovely this morning, a big advantage to having a house clinging to a hillside 100m abovethe  valley is that I just had to walk onto the balcony this morning to get an unobstructed view. Well worth the look.

Nice one Mike.

Beautiful, clear sky that was a picture in itself, but with the added interest......wonderful.
