Back in the Naim game

Posted by: Brian Weist on 12 November 2017

Finally making it back into the Naim game with great excitement. It's been about 3 years since I reluctantly sold my Nait5i and CD5i. It was the first time I heard Naim and the first time I heard such a great synergy with a combo since my Rotel RA-1062 and RCD-1072. Speakers were and still are Epos ES-11 (now driven by Creek 4040S2). While my current integrated amp (Creek 4040S2) and CD player (Pioneer DV-79Avi) deliver wonderful toe tapping music, it's the speed that is missing. I remember when I heard Joan Osborne's One Of Us on the Naim gear I got chills. I had never heard the vocals represented so clearly and near lifelike. Since then I would always bore everyone to death about the greatness of Naim and how astounding it sounded. No words can really capture the magic of Naim. And to answer Ms. Osborne's question. If God had a Naim? Well I'm sure it would be the Statement.

But now I finally have arrived and got my Naim back. This time I opted for the NAC 112, NAP 150, CD5, and will be purchasing a Flatcap too. Turntable is a Pro-Ject that will go through a Budgie phono pre. Will be upgrading turnatble later. Speakers will still be ES-11 but they are showing their age and will upgrade at some point. Just wanted to share and say hi to all the Naim fans and glad to be back.

There is no need. He already took Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms to compose and conduct music.
