Printer problem

Posted by: Southweststokie on 22 November 2017

I have a Canon Pixma MG7150 printer. the problem began by not printing all pages, now I find it won't print any pages. When I select print, the printer wakes up and sound like it's getting ready to print but it only spits out blank sheets of paper with no information printed on them. The ink supplies are all ok and I have just installed the latest printer drivers on my mac from the Canon website.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ken

When did you last use the printer Ken? We had a similar problem with a Canon inkjet, turned out the nozzles were blocked because it hadn't been used for a couple of months. We had to bin it in the end.

To be blunt, throw it away and buy yourself laser printer. After years of messing with cartridges, last year I bought a Brother laser (colour) for about £120. It's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

Had identical issues with 9 year old Canon MP970 ink jet. Superb printer in its time, but all print heads failed one by one. Totally uneconomic to repair.

Replaced it with £60 Canon MG 6800 inkjet - terrific printer. More economical, wireless capability, does all we want of it for occasional printing.

It has had regular use and has been playing up for a while. Since I posted my question it has now started working again!
