XPS DR, where to place it

Surely if you can afford the £3,700 cost of the XPS, you can afford an extra shelf to do things properly? To get the best from the XPS it needs to be properly sited so that its Burndy cable can hang free. That will hardly happen with it in a drawer. 

The XPS doesn't run that warm but i'd still not put in an unventilated draw - you also need to consider the Burndy cable needs to run freely between DAC and XPS...

If you really only have two choices then i'd put the DAC on top of the XPS, compromised as it is in this setup.

i have no Naim Rack, so i cant add a shelf.

There is a big hole at the back of the drawer, so Burndy can run free to DAC.

Its a petty, thats not possible to post a picture on the fly, as in other forums, so i could show.

Can you put some holes in the floor of the drawer to allow air in under the XPS which can pass out via the hole at the back ?

Its similar to that one, but without a rear wall.

No i think so, because it will get too instabil, i think.

Ah ok - i'd suggest trying the XPS in the drawer and checking how warm it gets. You may also want to check with Naim on their thoughts for locating the XPS in this position first though
