Quad Electrostatic Speaker with separate Dynamic Woofer

A friend of mine has inherited from a family friend a pair of vintage Quad Electrostatic speakers with separate dynamic bass units. Being of an age, I vaguely recall that these were very highly regarded in their time and also possibly that they were of Scandinavian design. Can anyone let me know a bit more about them? Quad Electrostatic speakers should be fantastic if used within design limits. Don't know about the base units? Post some pictures.

Hi Marco,

it seems like your friend has inherited the Gradient subwoofers from Finland. They are trading under the name Gradient Labs, perhaps Google or another search engine can provide you more information. Stereophile has a review of the SW 57 on its website.
