Hicap or aux2

Currently running a nac202 with hicap and napsc2 with a stage line for my DV20x2. the stage line is powered via aux2 socket and sounds really great but was wondering if putting a hicap on the stage line would bring much of an improvement ?
Yes you’ll be making the task of the 202 so much easier.
what kind of improvement may i hear though, would it be night and day? its a few quid for a hicap
Better scale, drive, involvement, better sense of the performance. But don't take my word for it. Try one out and see first before ordering. I'm sure your Naim dealer will oblige
I suspect you’d be far better sticking with the powered output and getting a 282.
thanks guys and to Hungryhalibut - I just bought my202 so right now a 282 is totally out of the question ;-)
With a 202 or a 282 I think that powering the Stageline with a Hicap is worthwhile - not so much with a 252, but by then perhaps a Superline (or equivalent) would be warranted. Have fun finding out
A bare Stageline via Aux2 is a worthy phonostage at its price. When you add a PSU to the Stageline it becomes a cost-intensive choice. In that case, stand-alone phonostages seem the more lucrative option, especially where air, soundstage, and imaging are valued in vinyl replay.
As Chris Dolan is not quite saying but I am, maybe a SuperLine on Aux2 instead.
Yes, I have an olive HiCap on my Stageline to 202 makes a very nice improvement, I use the 5-5 pin lead from the HiCap to power the stageline then a 4-5 pin lead from stageline to the 202 and find it slightly better than routing the signal through the HiCap.
i prefer Dynavector's own phono stage to the Stageline, the latter of which i've used with a Hicap and without. might your dealer be able to lend you a Dyna SUP-200 step-up transformer and P75 phono stage to compare against the Stageline/Hicap?
