Naim forum La La Land

I saw this forum described as La La Land. Why do you think this is?
Bob, please note forum rules, specifically cross forum discussion.
Probably because you see many replies here based on blind loyalty to the house brand, system building on long-held cookbook philosophies, and the omnipresent notion that if your Naim gear is not performing optimally for your ears it's your own fault, and once you address your inadequacies all will invariably fall into place. No one else does 'true' watts or PRaT like Naim, it's all scrupulously tested by Naim .... etc. As if any other manufacturer is a comparative hack and can't do musicality. Much of this can read to an outsider as Naim being the epitome, the only one to own. Hence the La La Land premise.
I'm by no means insinuating that all responses here conform to this scenario, just that there is a pervasive mentality in the landscape, often dominated by the same frequent responders.
OTOH, the Naim forum should be commended for maintaining an open, objective dialog involving other brands.
Well summarised by Joe.
One more thing to add - it’s a free world out there - we are free to post our comments and one is of course free to call this Forum whatever naim they see fit
Yes indeed, good summary Joe. I'm not sure which forum is being referred to, but I do notice some of the UK forums seem to have a predominance of anti Naim contributors. Its nice the way this forum discusses any & all brands without that kind of thing.
Because a good number of people think that listening to Spotify via a chromecast audio is as good as it gets?
I was once torn to shreds by a number of people for saying that the analogue output of an Airport Express sounded rubbish. I won’t say where!
I think it comes from the LInn - Naim flat earth days and the magazines devotion at the exclusion of many other great products from other companies especially Japanese product that these posters on other forums remember from the past. And that is where in my opinion where the anti Naim negativity stems from.
I suppose at the pre and power level Naim is a bit finiky as its not a fit and forget product as you might have to have have a empty shelf under your 552 to allow it to breath !! and the cables destressed, lock nuts on the burndys just so to optimise the performance.Just an illustration of why some might think of Naim as cultish. Also this PRAT thing like Naim is the only company that can do it
It’s because when someone here says “Superlumina sounds great” or “a Superline deserves a Supercap” or “an NDS is improved by a second 555PS”, I hold my ears shut and sing “la la la la la la la” until these evil thoughts go away.
Because they want to sing about it, but can't remember the words?

I did realise I was treading a fine line with this thread Richard but thought that not naming the forum or any specifics that you might allow this thread.
.......only one thing worse than being talked about....
.sjb
I think Hook is nearest the mark IMO it is purely because of financial aspect and the amounts that are discussed on this forum in a rather blasé manner and also the things joerand touched on the 'my way or the high way' attitude of Naim devotees.

Which of course, I have...
(with a small edit to your post)
Living in La La Land = to think that things that are completely impossible might happen, rather than understanding how things really are.
'Nuff said?
As Naim systems go I'm half way to the first La but no non-naimes have ever failed to be impessed with the sound.
I thought la la land was way up north. Near Honnah Lee by the sea.
Rumoured to be the place for much frolicking. Especially around Autumn time.
Pity I can’t find the offending piece. I could have had a great time
