Deezer lossless
Posted by: ChrisSU on 07 December 2017
I’ve just noticed that the Deezer lossless subscription (16/44 FLAC) previously only available to Sonos users, is now more widely accessible. Some brands are offering native support for this, including Bluesound, Yamaha and others, but it is also available via Google Chromecast, so should work on the new Naim streamers too. I wonder if anyone has tried this, and if so, does it sound any good?
I trialled Deezer last year, and thought it had a wider selection of music than Tidal, and a much better UI compared to Tidal’s rather shoddy offering. Maybe time to jump ship?
Assuming you have one of the new Uniti range that is...
I'm guessing Naim are going to struggle with providing native Deezer support on the legacy range, and obviously this doesn't support Chromecast.
FWIW, I have used Deezer lossless in the past, and it has been pretty good, and with a decent UI - as you say the Tidal UI is adequate bit not especially alluring...

I’m guessing they’re not!!
Did start a thread a week or two back on this topic. You can use Deezer via Unit Chromecast, I preferred Tidal and keep finding even with downloaded playlists my Nova would get caught out and the music/signal would regularly Break up.
Now if Spoify pull their lossless finger out Id be happy.
Recall Deezer is MQA. I use it in the car fulltime sounds so much better than Spotify Extreme.
Oh important point it's called Premium Plus and 99p a month for 3 mths, then full price.

Sorry, I forgot you had already bought this up!
I agree about Spotify, I still think it’s the best service overall, apart from SQ.
Deezer with MQA? Somehow I’m feeling underwhelmed about that.
€20 per month is a bit rich for something that you can't hear the difference in. Double the price of the standard, crazy price structure, just copying spotify and tidal.

I'm certain it will be no struggle at all...
BTW Tidal is now available on Apple Carplay

That' good news hope Android follows, though my single streaming service would ideally be Spotify with proper lossless not MQA as I still feel using them all Spotify is more natural layout, far superior playlists and best of ALL Spotify Connect.
Occasionally I use Tidal through Android Auto (AA) but fudged, as in get Spotify playing on AA pause it, them open Tidal in my phone press play, but apart from volume nothing can be controlled, unless I use my watch to skip tracks and pause (messy).
OH Jon but no Waze on Carplay ????
For info got an app notification from Deezer, they are offering a family subscription with full Premium lossless for £15 a month, for 5 accounts.
I pay £15 a month for a 320k family Spotify also, but out of all services i prefer the Spotify app and playlists and car integration.

Fixed that for you.
Who would win in a fight between Spotify and Deezer lossless with a Chromecast dongle for Deezer, using an ND5XS?

Thats really messy ... even before it supported CarPlay you could start a album or playlist on Tidal and CarPlay would let you skip tracks, pause, play, etc. even showed track information (track title, album title and artist) and album art in the background :-)
(Sorry off topic)
