Power amp for nac 152xs/flatcap/headline

I am looking at buying the nap NAP 155xs, 200 (non dr) or 250 2 (non dr) to fit with my 152xs / flatcap (both upgrades connected to the 152) / headline + Meridian ms600. I intend to use the old Linn Kan Mk1 together with the N-sub connected to a DS Speaker antimode that helps out with base issues in my room. The reason I want to stick with the Kans is that the base they produce don't aggravate my room + I need speakers that go close to my back wall and I haven't found a better alternative + I really enjoy them! I know that the Kans are supposed to be very power hungry which tempts me to go for a used nap 250 but wonder if this is money down the drain compared to a nap 155 or 200 together with the 152.

The reason I want to stick with the 152 is because it provieds a sub out which naim's more expensive pre amps don't offer. I am also considering if the Supernait 2 might be a better deal. I would appreciate any suggestions?

Kans are fab!!!  I have been running mine with Nait 2, no problemo!  Also Supernait 2 and NAP250.

I like the 152XS a lot, I have had a couple with 150X, great mix, I would imagine the 155 a good match too.  It's about synergy.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks Mark, has anyone experience if there is good synnergy between 152xs and nap200 or 250?

I am currently using a non-dr nap200 with 152xs / flatcapxs driving PMC 20.23s and it all works very nicely together.

I upgraded from the nap155xs and in my opinion there is an audible improvement, with better control of the bass

and less harshness in the treble - but that's in my lounge! I would go nap200 but suspect there would / could be more control

with the nap250 but not heard it.

Have you considered using the high level input on your N-Sub? This would remove the need for a preamp with a sub out, so you wouldn’t be trapped in amplifier mullet territory.

Yes I have considered that but then I will not be able to use my ds speaker with the sub and the base would get too boomy ????
