loose banana plugs

I'm using Super Lumina speaker cables with banana plugs into the Sopra-3. They tend to be rather loose and not snug at all. Is this a problem? Should I have gotten spade endings?

Talk to Naim or your dealer - there was a batch with loose fitting bananas - Naim provided replacements.

Are the bananas loose in the speakers? The sopras have large terminals on them and they should tighten up around the bananas without any problems.

yes the banana are loose into the speakers. I dont think there is any way to tighten. They just plug in. The tightening nut would be for spades. Am I misunderstanding?

Loosen the big nut. Slide the banana in as far as it will go and then tighten the nut up around it

I use my SLs into Sopra 2s and was aware of a batch of cables being made that were somewhat slack in the plug department . My cables evidently didn't come from the effected batch so it might be worth checking as previously advised. The fit of my plugs is fine but not what I'd call a tight fit.

I had a pair with the loose Banana plugs the dealer replaced within 5 days worth checking.

Finkfan, The large plastic wing nut  only tightens down for spade terminals. The banana plug receptacle is fixed diameter. Thanks for responding
