Uniti Atom Remote

Posted by: limerace on 23 December 2017

I am sure this has been already asked but, why cannot I use the remote control to access my UPnP server?

Surely this is many people's most popular source!

As a result it render's the remote for me as virtually pointless and I end up just using my phone App!

Asked this before...

One removal of this function (has been there forever with the initial range or any othe UPNP savvy Modell before) is one of the worst omissions with the new range. For no reason.

Really, really hope Naim implements it ASAP

I can't believe that this has not been fixed in a firmware update yet. It is the main reason why I returned my Atom and went with a SU instead, and that was 5 month ago.

I do not think this is a bug which will ever be fixed by a firmware update,  but rather a design choice. You are expected to use the Naim app I think.

I agree David, I think in 2018 Naim need to do a far better communication on where the new products are heading instead of all the glitzy stuff with Uniti . Interesting take out on the final end of year Signals hifi dealer blog in Facebook or website. Face to face, heart to heart on 2017 with Naim head of sales, concerned over where Naim are going, and loyal Classic/500 custom base?

I can’t see it this being fixed with a firmware update, and personally, I would never consider browsing my music library with the remote when I can do it on an iOS device, but if it’s your preference, I would suggest that you submit a feature request to Naim. If enough people do that, they will more than likely instigate it in future.

Having the choice to use either the app or the remote obviously is a better one - compared to be restricted to one only.

Especially considering the fact that the choice has always been there -PLUS - the functionality itself (sort of) exists as one can use next/last once UPNP has been triggered from the app.

In in my opinion - it's all there already Naim should only turn this on (again)...
