Cannabis anyone?

Another stellar day for Canadian cannabis stocks. Aurora, Canopy Growth, Aphria up 11, 20 and 11 %, respectively. If interested, the go-to site is bnn dot ca. A click on "Marijuana news" brings up a stock watchlist.
Have fun!

Well, stone the crows!

To get an, ahem, flavour of the market, Cam Battley of Aurora Cannabis:

So marijuana is legal in Canada? ????
US based MJ stocks are going crazy as well. California will be legal in the New Year. If it keeps going at this rate screw a NAP250DR I'll get a Statement! lol
Bought Aurora 3 months ago at $2.18. Just wish I could have afforded more...but pleased with what I have.

Where do people buy Cannabis stocks?
Watch. It'll all go up in smoke in the end.
It could get eaten up by someone bigger.

Where do people buy Cannabis stocks?
Aurora (Symbol: ACBFF) is available on the Toronto Stock Exchange. I was able to purchase it via my Fidelity retirement account. Any major US broker would have it.
Cannabis stocks had a fire lit under them when Constellation brands (one of the big alcohol companies) acquired 10% of Canopy Growth in October. It's safe to assume that other alcohol, pharmaceutical and tobacco companies are sniffing around as well.
[@mention:30428924477710615]: Canada legalized medical marijuana in 2001. The bill to legalize recreational use is expected to pass by July of 2018. Stocks trade on the Toronto stock exchange (TSX).
...ah, thanks DrMark, we cross-posted.
Apart from the corporations focused on growing and distribution, there are some quite interesting smaller players. For example, InMed Pharmaceuticals (CSE:IN, OTCQB: IMLFF) have two products in the pipeline, going into clinical trials next year: INM-750, for the treatment of Epidermolysis Bullosa, and INM-085, for the treatment of Glaucoma. Currently trading around the dollar mark.
The cannabis plant has over 90 different cannabinoids. InMed "specializes in developing novel therapies through the research and development into the extensive pharmacology of cannabinoids coupled with innovative drug delivery systems." Their approach is to produce the less abundant cannabinoids via biosynthesis (insulin is produced this way).
The NYSE gets its first cannabis ETF:
I would stay away from the ETF, for the simple reason that many cannabis companies will go bust. Better to stick with the bigger players who have clear business plans and viable forward guidance.
The announcement of the first cannabis ETF to trade on the US market seems to have been the driver of yesterday's impressive gains.
Another strong day today, with MedReleaf, Aurora, Aphria and Canopy Growth - my "blue chip" stocks - gaining between 4 and 7 % at mid-day.
InMed also doing very well, up 14% ...
Aurora Cannabis still leading the pack in trading today (over 20 million shares exchanged yesterday)... Up 11% this morning....
So for the price of a HiCap a year ago, one's investment would now be worth about a NAP 300.
Also look at SLTK - they make the lights for growing indoors.

Well, the most important thing is to fully grasp what you're investing in. Roll one up...
Do you have an investment account set up for online trading?

I have no account set up for trading nor do I have any knowledge whatsoever in the subject.Probably my original post was me jumping in feet first when I read the returns you posted.
I certainly need to do some research and decide if any future investments are right for me.
I hope marijuana becomes legal in my lifetime. I smoked a bit in college. I also drank a bit of alcohol those four years. I refuse to believe THC is more dangerous than alcohol. Would be nice to have the option to take a few mg of THC to relax. [I suffer from chronic pain from a neck and back injury. Also I'm old and my body just aches.]
