Google team complaints vs. Haas and it’s plain to see. They’re getting  uber defensive about it.

It's a sad indictment of F1 that Hamilton couldn't come close to attacking Vettel for the lead of the race, given the pace which the Mercedes enjoyed. Gone are the days of a 'charging Mansell/Senna' and alike.

..and a complete contrast to the last few laps of the latest MotoGP race.

Great Qatar GP. Nail biting finish. Did Honda just finish 4 with the TR team?  Fantastic stuff!

It was a better race in Bahrain

Posted on: 08 April 2018 by Tony2011

Tell  that to Horner and his crew!

Posted on: 08 April 2018 by GraemeH

That was great! The TR pit crew clearly having a good time!

No kidding, eh?

I really like the look of the cars with the halos. Kind-of "from the future".

Yes, once again Baku has not disappointed. Drama after drama and one has to feel sorry for Botas. Terrible luck!

Posted on: 29 April 2018 by Mike-B

Yes indeed that was a bit exciting,  not exactly F1 racing as intended,  but it stopped a body nodding off after a superb sunday lunch c/o my local (very local) beef farmer & my domestic goddess.

I also feel sorry Botas,  but maybe only 70% sorry,  it might well be that his vision is all a blur at those speeds,  but does that mean it was impossible to see it.  It looked quite prominent & 3 dimensional on TV

Hamilton for sure knows he got lucky & that was also freely admitted by Totto,  I guess a lot expectations are wrapped up in the upgrades for Barcelona.

I was surprised at Vettel going for that move on cold(ish) & not optimised new tyres.

As to the Red Bull's modifying each other,  I haven't seen any stewards decision yet,  but for me Max made one too many changes of direction & Daniel had an adrenaline rush.

Scrappy but unexpectedly exciting.  Just when I thought that it was set for a safety-car finish and felt a twinge of disappointment it all kicked off!

Baku looked just awesome from the Halo perspective.

Re the Red Bull incident:   Stewards’ concluded that the incident “had its origins” in the two defensive moves made by Verstappen – both described as “relatively minor” – but that Ricciardo had also contributed after admitting he left his move to overtake on the left too late.

Christian Horner said he is apportioning blame one way or another – they are both to blame - and it’s the team that's lost out,  Both will be visiting the factory to apologise to team staff.

See F1/FIA are finally getting round to sorting out the stupidity of massive front wings, so as to allow for following car to run closer to the one in front wef 2019 season.

Sure that will please young Max...Could Danny Ric be any closer?

Posted on: 01 May 2018 by Mike-B

I was just reading about it.   Apart from the Red Bull demolition derby boys,  if it does what's promised then I'm sure Mercedes will be happy.  The plan seems to be front wings will have a larger span & less winglet fiddly bits. The plan also includes  simplified front brake ducts with no winglets & a wider & deeper rear wing

I like the "demolition derby boys" bit, Mike. Excellent!

Looks like Miami will be a new F1 venue for 2019.  Yet to be confirmed but it seems talks are well down the road & it will be "downtown" Miami so I read that as another 'street' race (unfortunately).

Posted on: 04 May 2018 by JamieWednesday

If it’s a street race like Baku, that’s fine.

If a ‘Monaco’ then less so.

Posted on: 04 May 2018 by Mike-B

Baku is on the borderline as far as I'm concerned.   For me all F1 street races are a bit odd;   grand national on a show jumping ring comes to mind.      Nothing wrong with street racing as such,  but an F1 car is the wrong tool for the job.

How about a car park in Vegas?

Surely nothing can beat the Birmingham (F3 as I recall) GP!

So long as they don't do it in London, Paris or Rome, otherwise it'll be won by a taxi (all the pukka F1 cars are to fragile to go toe-to-toe with a London cabbie, and the ones in Paris and Rome are just loopy!).

Paris I’d bet on the bus drivers... once witnessed a bus driver drive straight into the back of a car because it was parked in a bus lane... deliberately and even though there was pleanty of space to pull out and drive around the car!

If that was in Liverpool the bus driver could have shouted “What a stupid place to park ricciardo!”

‘Formula E’ it’s being called...

Jaguar certainly seem ecstatic at the prospect.
