Down to my last Mu-So

Due to foreseen and unforeseen circumstances I find my self without my main HiFi amplifier and my 55" Samsung TV, the unforeseen bit, which are both at the heart of my AV system.

Anyway, I have had to retreat to my Muso for a bit of music. This is primarily used as a 'soundbox' for my ancient, but working, LG tv. This is driven by a SkyQ mini box so in effect the Muso is connected via WiFi.

Firstly, for no good reason I connected the Muso via my iPad using Tidal. This proved to be rather pathetic as the sound did not seem to be as good on the Muso as I remembered and Tidal kept dropping out. I was prepared to blame it on the WiFi and or the Muso but had my doubts.

So, secondly. I thought I would treat this a little more seriously and got out the big guns, or at least slightly larger ones. I transferred to my MacBook Air and fired up Roon  which I linked to the Muso. The difference was tremendous. Evidently the 32bit operating system on my iPad could not really handle the load either through processing power or WiFi traffic.

So, as The House of The Rising Sun blasts through my back lounge I continue to be astonished at the clarity and power delivered by this fantastic bit of kit. Mind you, as a soundbar it is pretty cr@p, but don't tell my wife as that was how I sold it to her in the first place and she does not like how fiddly it can be to switch on and off.

My wife loves the improvement in tv sound when using the Mu-so as a soundbar.
