An awful mistake?

Following my previous posts regarding streaming I have just received a phone call to say my ATOM has arrived from Naim, however I am now thinking I have made a serious error of judgement. All I wish to do is to rip, store and play my CD collection through my existing amp (Nait XS) and perhaps listen to internet radio. Now I know about the issues and costs of subscription streaming services I can do without these. It has been suggested I can get what I need with the same quality  as a CD replayed on my CD5 XS by using the following:

Innuous ZEN mini

Sonos connect device

Will I also need a DAC or is this included in the above

Any comments welcome

I’ve just given the acrylic logo bar on my Star a firm yank - thankfully it appears firmly attached !

Took the Uniti STAR back to dealer who offered repair, replacement or refund, my choice

I took the latter as I can have no confidence in such a product

When I had a close look there are many aspects of Uniti that leave a lot to be desired from packaging and instructions to finish and functionality

So ts back to playing CDs for entertainment

Thanks for all the helpful comments about tape and glue

Let us hope that this glued on logo and firmware problems connected with the Uniti range are not a sign of things to come.  Worrying signs.

Bob- it's not the logo itself that's held on, it's the bar at the bottom which has the sometimes illuminated logo ok

I must go and investigate these appalling concoctions as it seems the hi-fi press with their universal accolades is collectively taking us all for a ride. My Core is every bit as well made as my Classic gear so no worries here about finish. The box was also fine - not that I listen to it of course and instructions fine (unlike my Arcam Solo which comes with a manual containing every language known to man and is the size of one of those old GPO phone directories). OK, I get the fact that this  might not go down as Naim’s finest hour but I do get the feeling that some forum members are relishing banging the odd nail in the Naim coffin....and where would we all be then with our beloved friend dead and buried?

Of course one solution could be to have Salisbury focus on Classic and Statement and ship off all the lifestyle stuff to sunny old China....seems to have worked well for my QB. Shame if it happens but perhaps they’re getting swamped with demand and need to re-four on the core  business?

Now, let me look at my Core to see if there’s a logo I can pull off......
