Crap... made redundant

Sorry to hear that. Speaking from experience it is a traumatic time, and can be difficult to see a way forward, the challenges and problems it causes being all-pervading. Of course, there is nothing we can do to help, if you will accept the words of some of us that have been through it, even if at this point the future looks so bleak that you this sounds either impossible or, worse, condescending, in the long term it can turn out to be the best thing to have happened. My own redundancy took me out of a very stressful job where I had spent 10 years trying to keep the business I was in afloat, working 60-70 hours a week and missing much of my two children’s early years. I got a consultancy business up and running and within 3 months was earning as much as I had been before, though lacking stability. 18 months later moved to a permanent stable job, leading to the one I have been in now for more than 10 years, very happy and with my leisure time back. So if you will permit me, 3 words for what the day could represent:

A new start.
