No.

Alexa is more limited.  You may be able to programme a custom skill to do it, but it would be quite a challenge.

Google, on the other hand, supports Chromecast (including multiple Chromecast devices such as the new Unitis), and is supposed to work with DLNA apps if it's running on a phone or a tablet, so it may well work.   (It should do in theory, but as always with this type of integration, there's a degree of uncertainty and a risk of unreliability).

If you do programme Alexa, remember to make her ask “what’s the magic word” if the person requesting the music doesn’t say ‘please’!

Thank you Huge.  Excuse my ignorance, but isn't Alexa 'run' by google?

Alexa, Siri and 'OK Google' are all run on customised Linux core variants.

Alexa is Amazon (probably Fire OS, but not published:  This is a highly customised derivative of Android)
Siri is Apple and iOS
'OK Google' is Google and Android
(Cortana is Microsoft and Windows - not a Linux core)

I'm not sure if you want to use the Echo device to control a Naim streamer verbally, or play music stored on a NAS through your Echo device.  If the former, I think the answer is a definite "no", at least at the moment (but see PS below).  If the latter, again the simple answer is also in the negative.  As a workaround, you could upload music across from your NAS to the Amazon Music app (it only supports mp3 and m4a, so you might need to convert first) and you would need to pay for this.   The music would then be accessible via the Alexa app on the Echo device.  However, I suspect, as a naimee, you might be disappointed by the sound quality if you go down this route.  We have an Echo in our kitchen, which is used for timing cooking operations, making shopping lists, listening to speech radio etc and my wife listens to some streamed music from Amazon Prime.  However, unsatisfied with the SQ of the Echo and tempted by a discounted price at John Lewis, we eventually decided that a Muso QB would better grace our kitchen, which it does, in spades.

PS  I believe it is possible to use the J River media center with a Naim streamer and the media centre can now be controlled verbally via the Alexa app.  However, I have no personal experience of this approach.

Just as a side note we Bluetooth from Dot to Muso QB in the kitchen as an egg timer

I have a Google Home and Alexa Show - I thought with Google you could cast via voice maybe onve setup and playing, Alexa not unless you come up with some elloborate skill but it just uses Amazon Music.

Sure Some Point in the future maybe Naim will go voice control ; )
