is tidal UDP or TCP

Trying to understand why audio level Ethernet cables are better than ordinary ones. They do sound better and I am completely amazed by this.

I realized UDP is not error checking .... so is tidal using UDP (I think they are) and what about the stream from a NAS/Switch to say NDX?

Tidal uses http data transfers and uses TCP.. it looks exactly the same as local streaming media transfers.

UDP is error checking, just not error correcting via transport flow control.

Thanks Simon

I heard some expensive Chord ethernet cables and they do sound better from switch to streamer.

It's not something I was particularly very happy to find out though as it's just too expensive

Ali, indeed. You could if you were really interested make your Ethernet cables, and use two separate shielded cables with a single twisted pair in each and then loosely wrap the two cables ... I suspect you would be very impressed by what you heard for pennies.
