Winson,

I use my nDAC with 2 transports :

1)  CDX2 + DC1 coax cable

2) Dedicated computer +  Audiophilleo 1 MKII  and Pure Power
Audiophilleo eliminates almost all jitter , all noise generated by the computer and reclocks the signal.
It sounds as good as from a USB flash drive.

I have ND5XS - NDAC and all cd's ripped to a NAS.

As such I have to rip any cd before being able to play it. No big issue, unless "playing with" cd's that my guests are bringing at a gettoghether.

Big advantage is that cd's are stored out of sight in the attic, which has great WAF.

I run NDX-FM, Audirvana/MacMini/Explorer1, Squeezebox Touch, AirPort Express, and Sonos occasionally into my Naim DAC.

Someday, I will add a CD5XS or CDX2.2 into the Naim DAC.  Integration with the Naim NARCOM-4 remote control and the Naim app is important to me.

I first tried the Rega Apollo-R as a transport with the nDAC, but there was a problem with the sound dropping out completely for about a second not long after starting a disc. I emailed Naim and was told there is some kind of synchronization problem between these two components. It sounds fine, just annoying.

I replaced the Rega with the Cambridge CXC and was very happy. Excellent value for the money, and I thought the Cambrdige was the equal of the Rega. I recently replaced the Cambridge with a used Cyrus CD xt, resulting in better sound.

I use Auralic Aries Femto, have ordered Auralic Aries G2.

Pros very easy to use and Tidal and Quobuz is integrated in the Lightning Software.

I would add a Cambridge CXC cd-transport to your list along with removing the Cyrus as beeing very unreliable

A CXC is very affordable new, not the best transport out there but reported to very near compete with something up to four times its price

No wasted electronics as in for example the Rega Apollo R which is a complete cd player (and a nice one indeed)

Sure a CDX2.2 is better but too much wasted electronics if using as transport only, and an expensive one too.

I ran CXC with a DacV1 with excellent results, not tried nDac though but others with fine results

I had heard of Rega Apollo R having syncro issue but saw in a separate post that say solved by a firmware upgrade.

I had also heard the reliability issue on Cyrus but again mixed views in the forum...

Any body got experience on CEC or Heed, especially the TEAC PD-501?

A friend had a listen at the CEC

According to him they are among the very best transports out there

Not cheap, their entrylevel is 6-7 times the price of a CXC

Moon has also reveived good views on other forums

I was told by a dealer that CA transport got a lot of issue... I had no personal experience though.
