Give the Hicap a bit more time to settle in if it's a recent addition to your system. 

Out of interest, do you have everything connected correctly. NAC 202 upgrade 2 to Hicap socket 4. Hicap socket 3 to the power amp ?

If all is well and a few more days doesn't make a difference then consult your dealer. 

It’s definitely a case of ring your dealer....a bit of a shot in the dark but maybe it’s a capacitor gone?

I don’t think it should run hot either....

That sounds dodgy to me, I would take it out and power the pre from the 200 while you get it checked out. Warranty is 2 years.

All cabling is indeed correct and the DR has been in the system 16months with no issues so it looks like it will be a call to the dealer for me tomorrow 

Chrissu i will indeed take the hicap out and power the 202 from the nap 200 for now, bloody annoying its only just out of warranty????

I have the exact same system you have. It does sound like something is not right. I do not believe the HiCap DR should be warm.. Mine is cool to the touch. I would call your dealer.

Why out of warranty? 18 months < 2 years... 

My HiCap always runs cold to the touch. By the looks of it the previous ‘warmth’ may have been a symptom of malfunctioning.

Yes indeed all connected as per naim instruction, been in and running fine for the past 16 months
