Can the Uniti Atom drive speakers whilst also driving an integrated connected to preamp out?

I suspect it can but I've not tried with the Atom or the Nova specifically.
Older all-in-ones apparently had a menu option to disable internal power-amp if pre-amp out was in use but this does not exist (currently anyway even if possible) on the new Uniti devices.
Be aware that the Atom's pre-out it RCA not DIN out unlike the Nova which has DIN OUT.

I think it will work, but the pre-amp output will also be affected by the volume control of the Atom ...

surely naim would have made it that the internal power amp was totally disconnected therefore no idle current flowing. in practice this improves the power supply to run all that's left. Does anybody know
