Uniti - power questions

Posted by: gsr on 05 February 2018

Hi,

I've recently purchased a Uniti 2 which is currently connected to an Isotek mains conditioner.

I've read the Naim Powerline is a good upgrade. Is it worth it compared to running through the Isotek or even straight from the mains?

Thanks

Gordon

Once you've had the Uniti for a few weeks, and got used to the way it sounds, I would remove the Isotek and see if the sound improves. Once you've made a decision on that, maybe consider a Powerline, but to my mind, it is rather expensive for the improvement it might bring to a Uniti.

What do you need a mains conditioner for?

It’s mainly for the TV, sky box, DVD player and AV amp

I would experiment with a) removing the conditioner altogether, and b) giving the Uniti its own wall socket, and put the TV stuff on the conditioner.

Ok - understood.

Your Uniti shouldn't really be plugged together with those devices.
