Uniti Atom, Star and Nova ... ADC?

Okay ... its widely known that the new Unit Atom, Star and Nova incorporate an ADC.  Do we know / have any confirmation from Naim as to the purpose of this ADC?

Is everything you listen to locally going through a analogue to digital then back to analogue conversion; or is it simply to provide to the multi-room functionality?  We know its not for volume control as Naim explicitly state (on the website) "At the heart of Uniti is an audiophile volume control which adjusts level in the analogue domain".

I'm just curious and it would be good for Naim to correct any misinformation out there as currently it appears the belief is everything goes through A-D-A conversion.
