Apparently quite a quick death, a Lion does bother to kill you before eating........the worst way is Hyenas. The pack just eats you alive!

I've been going to SA & other parts of Africa for many years & heard/read of similar killed hunter/poachers a number of times,  this story only made the headlines because the lion leaving just the head & some entrails (Lion do not normally eat any animal kill heads & always leave the stomach)   

This may well have been a poacher, although the killing took place outside the Kruger NP,  it was still in one of the private reserves bordering Kruger in the Hoedspruit area,  so by default,  whatever he was intending to shoot he was poaching,     but it could be he was just hunting for bushmeat - buck.

It’s the laughing as they do it that is the real torture,

If he was after killing anything then it's just his hard excrement and well done the lion.
