I hope its worth it?

After much deliberation I have decided to order two Full Naim Fraims, base plus three shelves in Black.
Having spent sometime researching Racks and looking at other options, I have convinced myself that despite the considerable cost that it will be money well spent.......
I am very much hoping that I won’t be disappointed???????
It’s hard to demo a rack isn’t it? From all accounts it’s worth it.
I bought a 3 shelf Fraimlite in December last year after a long time deliberating it. Worth every penny in the end. A huge improvement in every way. I'm sure the full Fraim will be even more impressive.

I’m sure most dealers are happy to let you demo a black box, speakers, cables, interconnects ect ect
But not a Rack... so as you say from all accounts the general consensus is it’s worth it....
Congratulations Wenger. I’m sure it will be a big improvement to every box you sit on it.

I did consider the fraim lite, but eventually convinced myself I might at some point start thinking about upgrading to full fraim, so just as well bite the bullet.
Certainly pleased to hear you have experienced a huge improvement, that’s reassuring

Thanks Finkfan, I certainly hope that is the case
Good choice [@mention:50422349809511500]. Looking forward to hearing how you find it. When will it be with you?
Wenger, when I went from a very basic Quadraspire to a full fat Naim Fraim, I enjoyed a significant improvement and that was with a basic Classic system.
I am now on the hunt for a pre-loved Fraim base so I can move to Brains and Brawn separate stacks.
Yes Fraim is expensive but I don't think you will regret it. I too have all-black Fraim and IMHO it looks the best and blends in with the Black Boxes so does not draw too much attention to itself.
Enjoy.

I put the order in about 10 days ago, my dealer indicated it would be about a 2 week wait, I was expecting it to be longer but as yet not had a definite eta

Thanks Nigelb, appreciate the reassurance.
At the moment I have what can only be described as a ‘ropey old rack’ so I’m hoping the difference will be as considerable as the outlay
In my humble Nova system I was surprised how some parts of a track suddenly seemed to come out of the mix. Having moved system to other side of the room, I was behind the AV stand improving the cable situation. A track that I had been playing for some weeks was on in the background, I then heard notes that then stood out in the mix, was most surprised.
Your only regret will be that you didn’t do it sooner

I will be more then happy if that is the case.... and very much relieved
Natural to have doubts about spending so much on a rack, but it makes perfect sense once you have it, and there's no upgrade path to worry about!
Wenger, I think you will be surprised at the difference a good equipment rack can make. I upgraded my old basic Quadraspire to a SVT2 in Bamboo with the Bronze upgrades last year and was shocked at the improvement I'm sure you will not regret your decision.
Thanks PCD, I was considering the quadraspire myself, it is an extremely good rack.
My excellent dealer gave me an extremely good discount on the Naim Fraim, which encouraged me to opt for the fraim and empty my pockets in the process....
This has been my least confident upgrade so very pleased to have some reassurance
Wenger, my thought process was much the same as yours and likewise my dealer gave me such a good part exchange allowance for my old rack I could not refuse plus the Black Boxes had a free dust and clean during the installation.
They look good thats something!!
In your system photo, you have the dust cover on your TT. Taking the dust cover off an LP-12 makes an improvement that's immediately obvious. Had you tried that with your TT?

Hi JRHardee,
No I haven’t, will certainly give it a try.
From performance perspective it’s a no brainier, you really can’t go wrong. It’s one of Naims best products IMHO.

PS. Use Chips under the spikes! Very important.

Ok, Are you suggesting use chips regardless of flooring?

Silent Mounts are, I think you’ll find, much better.
Yes of course, and Sonority shelves even better but one step at each time... no fun otherwise ????

@Wenger: Yes. I have heard it on “all” surfaces and it’s always better with chips. Had a very cool demonstration at the Chord factory that blow my mind (and ears) away years ago.
