Uniti star / ripping

Hi all,

the new uniti star drives me crazy.

First unit had a defect volume control knob, second unit some hang up and sometimes sluggish response. 

The most irritating thing is that the unit creates some crackling/short breaks/dropouts after internal ripping to a usb plate.

Tried different types, always the same results but the dropouts are always at different places .

So the cds can not be faulty....

Hopefully you know what I mean....

Did someone of star users made similar experiences in terms of drop outs after ripping?
