Burmester speakers and Naim amps?

Posted by: VidarS on 19 February 2018

Considering a speaker upgrade and have looked at Burmester BA31 as an alternative to my Audiovector Si3 Avantgarde Arreté.

Aware there are literally tons of other speakers that would match well with my Naim amps (nac552+nap300), but have some fairly strict limitations on size and aesthetics at home - hence why the Burmesters have come into the picture.

Been searching this forum and the web at large, but don't seem to find much which could support this idea, or deter me from further considerations.

Anyone who has tried to pair Naim with Burmester or has any opinions on this?

(I will not even go through the hassle of a home demo if the combination is futile to start with.)

Thankful for all advice and insight!

I looked on the net and find they look very pretty, but never  read a review of them, they are less known than mbl speakers for example....as german speakers.

On the naim forum, the majority of users have naim speakers, kudos, proac, pmc, bw, dynaudio, wilson, spendor, atc, or sonus faber....

Good luck

they would be on my last choices....with naim amps.  Sonus faber on first choice , but not heard with Wilson or Magico, out of my budget anyway.   Too heavy sound with bw, proac or dynaudio for my tastes.  But all tastes are possible.....even focal / naim, why not if you like it.

I needed a smaller speaker for my second system (272, Core, 250DR).  I have other Burmester equipment for my main system (Burmester 082 integrated amp, Burmester 948 power conditioner, EMM Labs XDS1 CD/SACD player, Proac Response D80 speakers, and am about to add an NDX).  So, I bought  pair of the Burmester B10 bookshelf speakers.  I have them connected to my 250DR with a pair of Crystal Cable Reference cables.  They sound wonderful with my Naim gear.  I wanted a little more in the way of bass, so added a JL subwoofer.  Problem solved.  I have absolutely no regrets with my purchases.  I certainly wouldn't call the Burmester speakers my "last choice" with Naim equipment.
