Mac owners!

Hi Guys,

Just returned from the Leeds Summer Streaming Event, and one of several questions I put the the Naim folk present was yet another enquiry as to how much longer we Mac users might have to wait until the desktop client software becomes available.

The answer was "we're working on it right now", though with no real clue as to when it will be published.

So, nothing new there then, I won't be holding my breath, I'm afraid.

I know this is not exactly a new topic, but the reply received represents the official viewpoint, as of today.

Maybe if everyone were to add their thoughts on this, in an attempt to show the Kremlin just how many there are of us, whose HDX's etc are limping along, with limited functionality, then the whole process might be speeded up.

After all, I may be wrong, but every printer I've bought for years now has always included software for both Mac and Windoze.

Names please, and Naim...........take note, there's a substantial number of less than happy people out here, who've signed up for the streaming revolution.........(it's the future!), ......only to find that things are less than perfect.

Regards,

Dave.

Sorry - but that is a quote from some one who knows nothing and blindly repeats what he hears on the web. Flash is client side software, PHP is server side software. These can coexist or not depending on your choice. There are a large number of technology choices available each of which should be considered in an informed and unemotional manner before opening your mouth.

I suspect the point Tog was making, the thrust of which was correct even if the intricacies of server-side code may not have been, is that it would be hard for a competent HTML4/5 web developer (with CSS and JS) to do as bad a job as the best Flash developer. Flash is a busted flush, and the sooner it shuffles off this mortal coil (taking Silverlight with it, with luck) the better.

EDIT obviously be good if they could find a competent web dev to sort this forum out… I shouldn't need to edit inline CSS to reply to a post on a discussion forum…
