ND555 with single 555DR vs NDS with two 555DRs

Sure, no one has heard the ND555, but when has that stopped us before.
For roughly the same outlay, you could get the NDS with two 555s or the 555 with a single one...
What a completely pointless question.

do you think the ndx3 with XPs3 dr will sound better than a ndx2 with 555ps dr?
Easy answer to that one. It will. Synergy and all that. Never liked the ndx with the 555 when I ran it for a few weeks.
OTOH, I could get a second 555DR for my NDS today. Or not do that and get a ND555 in several months (after selling my NDS) instead...
I think my head is about to explode!

Long time I did not get the PSs
untill I put one on my Cd2x...
still don’t get the two PS for a streamer....

I think you're onto something there Max. That's the Statement level streamer...
Mango - why not future proof? Buy a 2nd PSU for the NDS then you’ll be set ready for when you upgrade to the ND555

Powering the Lego
It's about time Naim re-designed the 555PS to do its job properly in the first place instead of having two units that are only working at 'half' capacity.

kudos super 20 speakers are fine, but nds/552/500 deserve better speakers. The second 555ps should not be a priority. I agree with you.

mango, my bet is on the ND555 with one 555PSDR. I have seen a ND555, but not heard one. Manu described its design and features - and clearly it will outperform the NDS.
Nice time mountain biking today. The Pacific Northwest probably has the best mountain biking in the world. I'm lucky enough to live 20 minutes away from Duthie Hill - a mountain bike park.
It's as addicting as Naim. You're thinking of nothing else as you bike uphill and then again downhill.
I've been biking since about two years now, have been doing it with my son. Spent the first 6 months just running after him - pushing him uphill and running full speed downhills.
He turned 7 last month, and is already faster and nimbler than me.
Almost went over the handle bars today. Was going too fast for my own good.
NDS/552/500 playing Paul Simon in the evening.
Reading "Ready Player One" - and realize we are living in done of the best times that humanity has seen - and in one of the best places too.

how many have this top system . the numbers must be very low. £10s thousand to run a streamer is in cuckoo land. new speakers would surely improve the system much more than a streamer
Mango, my bet is on the ND555 with one 555PSDR as well. They showed this way at the local Event in Seattle. Speaking with Steve and Mark from Naim and the local rep, the ND555 is going to be special indeed. Out of my range, but it's fun to dream.
opinions on 1 or 2 555ps are divided ....Martin Colloms in hificritic magazine tried both and preferred one ps on the nds. Harry, forum member, preferred and has 2 555ps....
If i had no money restrictions, i would do that, but only as ice on the cake upgrade. In other cases, i would put the 8k in other upgrades, like chord music power cords or interconnects...
