NDX 2 Digital Inputs

Can Naim reveal if the NDX 2 will include USB digital input?
Regards,
I’m pretty sure it will
The picture of the back from Bristol shows a USB port on the back, which I would assume is an inpur.

It will do.
Shouldn’t it be an typ A USB for digital input?
From what I can see looks like 2 optical, 1 coax and 1, BNC digital inputs. The USB is probably for external hard drive or memory stick.
From the Naim site
”Play music from a usb connect phone, iOS device, other MP3 players, USB sticks or HDDs”

USB digital inputs are type B male. Square with the rounded top.
Interesting that there is a BNC digital out. New DAC coming or is NDAC considered superior to the NDX 2 DAC or both?

I would think it's there because Naim think it conceivable before the NDX2 goes for recycling (!) that someone, no doubt they hope themselves, will have made a better DAC than there is in the NDX2, or at least some users will think that another make is better cf present situation with Chord.
So as you can't add hardware via a firmware update, I would see this as straight forward future-proofing rather than sending any signals about what they think of the internal DAC.

I expect it's SOP. The NDS had dig in and out. I haven't heard a DAC implemented better than that of the NDS, but it would be short sighted, not to mention a bit mean, not to offer the option.

As others have (in a round about way) said: it depends what kind of “USB digital input” you are looking for.
The NDX2, like all Naim streamers, allow you to connect a USB stick or HDD to play the music stored on it. It will also allow you to connect an iOS device and some other phones and “mp3” players to play via those.
What it won’t allow you to do is connect a computer or other device and utilise the streamer as a USB connected DAC. If you want to do that you’ll need to use a USB to SPDIF type converter and connect it via one of the SPDIF inputs.
