Hotelin Tours, France
Posted by: JamieWednesday on 18 March 2018
Hi, anyone familiar with Tours?
Will be stopping off here on way to Languedoc this Summer and looking for a nice hotel in the town centre. With parking!
Any recommendations?
Thank you all...
I don't know Tours specifically, but there's a rather good French chain (it's more of an association than a chain, so don't be put off quite yet) called Logis de France. I'm sure there will be one in Tours. Look for one with a three-chimney ranking - it will have a very good restaurant. Sorry I can't be more specific. Website here: https://www.logishotels.com/en/

try tripadvisor and see the comments. Or booking. com. You have photos, comments, prices....
Thanks guys, really just seeing if anyone had any direct experience.
We have stayed in a Logis hotel in Chamonix before which was a very nice experience.
I do use booking.com and look at tripadvisor too occasionally. However I've come not to rely on the comments as experience tells me many of these seem over gushing in their praise, for some reason, and others complain about the most trivial things. And with so many reviews/comments posted, they've kind of become victims of their own success because it's hard to consider which are reasonable and objective through sorting wheat and chaff. For instance we booked a hotel in Rhodes last year and looking at tripadvisor afterwards, many of the comments had us believe we'd made a terrible mistake. It turned out to be a great hotel and I think many of the negative comments had another agenda perhaps.
As I've not been to Tours before and there seem to be a large number of apparently decent hotels, I figured personal experince of those here might count for more!
A bit late to this. I don't have first hand experience of Tours but I have a friend whose wife is from Tours and they travel there 3 or 4 times a year. They would recommend the Mercure Nord (slightly out of the town centre) or The Belmont hotel. The latter is more expensive of the two. Both have free parking.
Thank you, I'll check them out.
