CDX not responding to remote

I bought a CDX several years ago without a remote. I recently decided to reduce the effort of getting out of my chair to select tracks by getting a remote. I was told on good authority that the CDX would respond to a philips rc5 controller yet despite trying several rc5 controllers including Philips, Panasonic and Bush - no response ! Yesterday I took possession of a virtually new Naim remote and again no reaction from the CDX despite fresh batteries. It would appear that the problem lies with the CD player ! It works perfectly on the buttons. Before parcelling the CDX back to Naim for servicing, does anyone have any idea what might be the cause of the CDX not doing as it is told !

Have you pressed the CD softkey on the Naim remote to enable CD commands?

Otherwise, it could be the IR sensor has failed in the CDX. It may be something that a Naim dealer's Tech can handle if so.

Have you tried pressing Aux, i and 5 all at once?

aux, i and any number key 1-0 will link the remote to the unit. but only within 30s of powering the unit on.

so power the unit on , then do the the triple key press of your choice. If that doesn't work then contact support I'd suggest.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

After contacting Naim support it appears I have the wrong remote. I need a Narcom5, I have a Uniti remote - err silly mistake.
