Radio 3 - Drop Outs

And I’m not referring to the presenters.
The Qb is a really clever product but Radio 3 drops out every 20 minutes or so. No problem on any other stations.
Thoughts?

Are you on the Radio 3 HD channel? It has better sound quality, and probably puts a slightly higher demand on your network. Also, are you on WiFi, wired Ethernet, or something else?
Yes I’m using the HD but that doesn’t seem a problem with R4 or 6 music. Wired.
These detective jobs are never simple!
I’ve had a few dropouts on Radio 3 ”HD” on a Star. They’re momentary but disconcerting.
I have a little cheapo Pure radio that suffers the same thing and even my car radio drops quite regularly. It must be a problem from the broadcast surely? When I listen to my streamer radio this rarely happens if at all. Very irritating!
Very well behaved today.
Absolutely driving me crazy now happens on Radio 3 and 4 HD. It can be right in the middle of a key moment when listening to something.

That’s why I have always preferred steam radio - when it deteriorates you can still follow something, digital just cuts out. However, presumably this is streaming internet radio rather than broadcast radio, so harder to understand if other channels get through OK.
There's a lot to be said for FM, not least the superior sound quality.
Yeah I prefer FM in the car, DAB sounds lifeless and disappears. But on the Qb it’s streamed and only happens on the BBC HD stations. I wondered about network overload but all the Tidal FLAC stuff seems fine. I’m confused.
Could be that the BBC Radio 3HD server, or part of the routing between the server and you, is not coping with demand on a wet day that is keeping people indoors listening to it....

Radio 3 behaved impeccably today - despite the rain
I recently experienced periodic dropping of R2 HD on both my Qb - wireless and unitiqute - wired. After some network analysis I opted to play with the QoS settings on my router. So the streamers now get highest priorities and background data transfer, such as cloud sync on my NAS, get the lowest. So far I haven't had any more dropping out issues.
