Speaker stands

I wasn't quite sure where to share this, so here goes.  My Naim system, which is my second system (for now), sits on a computer desk because I simply don't have any other place to put it.  Yes, I know that I should have a Fraim system - that will come with time & more space.  What I wanted to share is that I've been trying to make some changes to take advantage of my 272 and 250DR as they are set up at the moment.  I'm using Silent Feet to try and decouple the two.  But one thing I did today has made quite a change - I got my speakers off the desktop with a pair of IsoAcoustics desktop stands.  Suddenly, everything seemed to open up.  My soundstage was collapsed before when I compare it to this.  There is now depth to my speakers.  I really enjoy listening to piano, and have found that a recorded piano now actually is starting to sound like the real thing.  Things can only improve from here.

Isoacoustics make some good products,I use their GAIA 111s under my Dynaudio XD 600s,and was pleasantly surprised with the result, which was similar to yours.

As you have discovered, small stands even for desktop speakers make quite an appreciable difference for the better.

I have some pairs of Technics little SB-F1 and Technics also offered some very cool little tripod stands for desk use.  I've been looking for a pair for years with no luck, so they must have been a rare option indeed.  Which is a shame, as I tried some similar no-name tripods (the SB-F1s have a screw-in tripod mount on their base) and they were a revelation compared to just sat on the desk with some small rubber bump-ons.

My first thought when I saw that picture was Manfrotto, then the original table tripod by Leica. The nearest today possible PerGear?

Yes, you're right - that does look like the Leica table top tripod.  I used to have one of them,  probably still have it somewhere.  If I remember correctly, they're quite expensive.
