Speaker Stands for ProAc Tablette 10 Speakers On Desktop
Posted by: RERobbins on 28 March 2018
My Naim Uniti Atom is driving a pair of ProAc Tablette 10 Speakers that sit on a desktop. I'd like to get a set of stands for them but don't know how to go about selecting the proper set. Your guidance will be appreciated.
Thank you,

Look up Isoacoustics.com,they make stands for desktop...I use their GAIA 111s under my Dyn XD 600s.
I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the IsoAcoustic stand choices.
I can’t really help you there,I would say the shortest height ones might be the best,I have not used that type myself...possibly email them, tell them what speakers you have, and see what they suggest. They are a Canadian company, and I see you are in Chicago,so I would think you could get a set easy enough.
I have a pair of the Isoacoustics Aperta 200 desktop stands. I use them with my Burmester B10 speakers. The stands have a footprint of 7.8" by 9.95", and are available in black or silver. They stand around 3.5". Very easy to set up. They arrive fully assembled, and only need to be pulled apart (top half from bottom half) to adjust the tilt, if you want that. The stands have made a big difference to the sound of my speakers - highly recommended. I ordered them from Amazon Canada for around $400 Canadian.
I'm surpriced thats not much competition out there, included some cheapo Chinese ones
I thought stands f/ desktop speakers would have a massive offerings to choose between
I would not pay more for stands than for speakers, perhaps a business opportunity for some ?
I don't think cheapo Chinese stands would sound very good. As with so many other things in life, you typically get what you paid for.
What are the Proac speakers worth?

These speakers retail in the US for about $1,900.

I believe that there are alternatives out there that are better quality than cheapo Chinese stands and that are less expensive than the speakers.

I'm trying to figure out when the Aperta line makes sense compared to the ISO-L8R series. How did you think about that?
I really don't know much about that series. I see that the speakers can be elevated more than the Aperta series - do you need your speakers up that high? Probably best to check with Isoacoustics directly & see what they say.

Isoacoustics suggested the ISO-L8R stands for the ProAc. They arrived today and I'm a happy camper. Lovely combination indeed.
Great stuff, any improvement to the sound?
How high do you have the stands? Much set-up needed?
I found my Isoacoustics Aperta 200 stands just a little low for my liking. So, until I get something sorted out, I've placed a Naim cable box between the stand and each speaker. Now the speakers are elevated just right on my desktop.
For options in the UK have a look at Studio Spares, they sell the Isoacoustics range and some cheaper models that I will be looking at for my computer setup. No affiliation etc

The ISO-L8R130 stands seems similar to the Aperta but seem to afford more height adjustment options. Assembly took just a few minutes. I used the short set of rods that were included to raise the speakers about 4.25 inches off the desk surface. I haven't added the tabs that will allow me to tilt them upward. As I sit, my ears are about 20 inches above the desk surface and the mid point of the speakers are about 12 inches off the surface. I will likely substitute the longer rods that came with the stands to see how I react to having them even higher.

I will adjust the stands and play with the variations before listening very critically. The stands are now higher off the surface than I had before. I'm not sure how much sound difference will be attributable to getting them to a better height and how much to the acoustic isolation differences compared to the prior stands I was using that merely lifted the speaker a very small amount and tilted them.
I'm not very good at describing sonic differences. As I'm sending the old speakers I had and their stands to someone else, I needed new stands.
The ISO-L8R130 stands come with two sets of posts. I just inserted the longer posts to get the speakers to ear level. That's something I should have done a long time ago. I was pleased before with the sound. I'm thrilled now. Soundstage and detail improved meaningfully. I should have focused more critically on speaker placement a long time ago.
