Naim price increases April 30th

Posted by: MangoMonkey on 03 April 2018

I had a look at some of the Naim prices starting April 30th. I wonder if the Nac 282 really sounds $1K better now (at 9K).  If Naim can't get their costs under control (or the distributor can't), it's really Naim's problem..

Or maybe they don't expect/want to sell any of the classic pieces anymore... - or want the uniti stuff to appear cometitive.

The 282 was already overpriced 5 years ago - now it's just pricing itself out of the market.

The stageline is $900. That's just a joke - it was already not super competive at the $500 pricepoint.

Just a rant - I'm not in the market for anything, but can't recommend Naim to any of my friends at these prices.

Or maybe dealers will have a bigger margin and will be expected to give 20% off..

You were wrong.

It's May 2018 and the Stageline still sells for $695.

And the 282? Uniti series?
(To be clear -  I'm not questioning you - just asking questions).

Regarding Stageline - I guess Plurison saw this thread and backed down on the stageline. ;-)

@mcjt - what's your store called?

Looks like 282 is indeed $9K now. Both the 282 and 300 have gone up by 1K - as has the 500DR.

Here's the big joke - the NDX has gone up another 1K. Much of the uniti stuff another $500.

MCJT - not sure why you've gotten hung up on the stageline. In any case  still overpriced at 700.

Is Plurison trying to kill the brand in the US?

Or maybe raise the prices on the classic series to make the uniti stuff seem great value - folks would just buy the classic series otherwise...

Maybe this is a way to kill classic series off -

They are probably raising the prices because live is extremely expensive there. They need to have their bread too ( and diet coke and light beer ).

I'm not hung up on the Stageline. I just don't like people disseminating incorrect information.

And case in point: The NDX is discontinued. How can the price go up?

@mcjt - that exactly is the funny part.

Your profile shows Montreal - do you work for Manu?

The price list for US products still show the 282 at $7995.00. Where are you getting this info from? The 282 has not  gone up anything as of today, nor has any other Naim product since 6/17.

. Contact your dealer for current prices.

The AVOptions pricelist hasn't been updated since 6/17.

Naim is world class audio, has been for decades. If you can’t afford the new gear keep what you have or upgrade to a nac52 ????.

if Naim Audio do not make money we wouldn’t have a  forum to complain on. Then where would you go to have a bitch about something you can’t afford???
