Interesting room treatments

Apart from the well known wall diffusers, curtains of a certain shade, audiophile carpets, wall hung tuning devices and other such esoteric goodies that costs dearly. I took delivery and installed this..

A Himalayan Salt Lamp.

Other than looking cool it has lots of other uses that helps audio.

Increases our energy levels from release of negative ions.

Neutralizes Electromatic Radiation exposure from all everyday appliances and devices.

Reduces static electricity from the air.

Improves mood and concentration.

Makes you believe that it's summertime.

I can safely say that one of these has really improved my listening experience.

To maximize effect does it need to be facing a certain direction? Should it be kept away from the preamp like a PSU does? Can you upgrade the power cord? Should it be on glass or wood for isolation? All questions that need to be answered for best results.

The absolute best room treatment I have ever used is Cabernet Savignon. Merlot is very wishy washy in the bass and Pinot Noir accentuates the high frequencies too much. Definitely if you want a solid bottom end then it's got to be a solid red. Fortunately here in sunny Australia we have oceans of the stuff and it's cost effective as well. Cheapest upgrade I know of. Forget Himalayan salt get into the good oil.

I should have added that I've used an ioniser in the bedroom for quite a while. It is very effective in cleaning the air, it is certainly a fine dust trap. I feel we sleep better with it switched on.

Not sure if a Powerline will improve it's effect though.
