Atom new firmware issues

 2.3.1 introduced a problem of my Atom totally freezing up on a certain source in my system. I have my AV sources routed through the TV and sound goes to the Atom using HDMI ARC. I was trying to play a movie from a MacBook to the TV using HDMI but every time I switched over to the HDMI input on the Atom the unit locked up that only a hard switch off could recover. I did not see this behaviour before.

2.6 (9508) came a few days later but I have not been able to test if the same lock up issue arises as I normally play movies with a PS4 which appeares OK.

I was rather hoping that my general HDMI ARC issues (which I had on all firmware versions so far) would be solved whereby when I switch to the HDMI input, the ‘handshake’ between TV and Atom is only successful in around 1 in 5 attempts. The TV notes HDMI ARC is on as it says something like ‘External speakers active’ but reverts back to TV speakers after about 10 seconds when the Atom doesn’t respond. Cycling to a different input and back to HDMI on the Atom forces it to retry but it’s very unreliable. Seems to be OK when it eventually sticks..

Sigh.
