IOS Naim app issue on search
Posted by: Patrick74200 on 19 April 2018
Hello,
I'm unable to use the search function on UPnP server.
The only proposal is to search in local music ! I cannot use the tool to find music on my UPnP server (Minimserver). I think that's a bug with the new app.
Contact Naim help desk. You can email them but it's easier to phone. They'll walk you through fault finding or confirm if it's a bug. Rich.
As of yesterday evening I'm using the latest version of the iOS app with Minimserver and my 272, and can search without any trouble.
One thought - in contrast with the Android app, which has a search button, on iOS I have to scroll up to the top of the UPnP list to find the search box. It's not visible to begin with, and appears above 'A'. But I'm guessing that's not the issue, as that'd apply to local files too.
It's possible there's something going on with the Star that is different from the 272 platform, but either way Rich is right, it's one to ask Naim support about.
I'm on iOS 11.3 with the latest app, Synology (not Minimserver tho') & it works perfectly, there is no bug. Remember the app will only show you what the UPnP (Minimserver) shows it.
Please explain what you do with Twonky, when you have Synology+Minimserver.
You might need to have a look at your Minimserver setup, also might be worth power cycling the whole system, power everything off; power on the router first & let it finish, then the NAS & let it finish, then the Naim stuff & finally the app.
@ Dave**t : You're all right. : "on iOS I have to scroll up to the top of the UPnP list to find the search box. It's not visible to begin with, and appears above 'A'. But I'm guessing that's not the issue, as that'd apply to local files too.".
Then why display a magnifying glass at the top right?
I don't understand the purpose of the developers. I display a magnifying glass that is useless and I hide the true search field

Actually for me, there's no magnifying glass, or indeed anything to suggest that there's a search function. Voila:
I have to swipe my finger downwards on the screen (i.e. scroll up) to get the search box to appear.
It's possible that there's a setting which governs this, I'm still getting used to iOS just yet.
Like Dave, I scroll up to get the search bar (above A), that’s the way it’s been for a while, not that I use search
Sorry, but I have a wonderful magnifying glass ...
