Pro Ac Tablette 10 or Tablette 10 Signature with Uniti Atom and NAP 100
Posted by: lorenzodorio on 26 April 2018
Hello everyone! I need your special experience because I'm about to buy a pair of Pro Ac Tablette 10 or Tablette 10 Signature and I would like to know which of them is better to combine with my Naim set up formed by Uniti Atom and NAP 100. In Italy between the two versions there is a price difference of 500 € . In addition of this question I would like to know what do you think about Dali Rubicon 2 as an alternative.
Best regards,
Lorenzo
The Tablette 10 gets great reviews from the Naim community. Not sure the Signature has attracted any Naim users in the community as yet. The price difference would suggest the Signatures are better.
However I have learnt by experience - especially with speakers you must demo' at home!!
Good luck
Peter
Nap100 will drive either very well, I own the none signature version but have listened to the signature version at the dealers, to my ears not much difference but a home demo may have a different result.
Can you demo both at home?
Anyway the none signature is an excellent speaker and works very well with Naim amps.
I use the 10’s with a 250DR in a 25m2 room with a 3.5m ceiling and they are perfect to my mind. The room is so important in terms of absolute performance that I can’t recommend them to you though - a home dem is essential. I bought without a demonstration of any kind mind you !

A side comment would a Nap 100 matter much with Atom ?
Hello dear and thank you for the answer. I listened both the version of Tablette 10 (normal and Signature), the first at my local Naim dealer and the second at a Fair in Milan. My listening room is very small, 6x4 meters, and my listening point is set at 2,30 metre inside an equilateral triangle. I will ask to my local dealer if it's possible to bring the speakers at my home.
[@mention:71539985856971885] I ask the same thing at my Naim local dealer and he answers me that the Atom is not enough strong for that kind of speakers (86 dB of sensivity and 10 ohm of impedance) and that the 10 watt in addiction of the NAP 100 are better. Surely the next step will be a NAP 200.
Thank you for all your suggest.
Lorenzo
[@mention:8184226735374105] The differences are only in the quality of the material that build the woofer and the tuning of the crossover. In your opinion the Atacama stand works well?
The proacs are great little speakers ........ however, make sure you audition them with your amp ......... I recommend you take your NAP100 to the dealer and test it on a pair. Although small - these little speakers like being taken by the scruff of the neck - with an amplifier with really good control...to make them kick and sing. Its the age old synergy thing.......... good luck let us know how you get on.
Another speaker I suggest you try is the Spendor A2 ...... I have heard these in action and they sounded fantastic.....and that was on the end of a little Rega amp. I thought Spendor was all BBC .... slow midrange centric dated speakers ..... the new A2 is a different ball game .... I think they are about the same price as the proac ........ they are very cute floor standers....so you save on the cost of needing good really stands - which the Proac requires.... just a thought...

Richieroo - are these Proac's still good in free space - or should they relly be used close - or fairly close to a back wall?

My stands are Custon Design RS303 with their inert filler, extract from their web site below
Custom Design have created a discrete, rigid speaker support stand with an initial mass of 18kg. Mass loading the support columns with Inert Filler adds a further 20kg to the final mass, we recommend at least 2 bags of Inert Filler per column, enhancing the performance of your RS 303 Speaker Stands. Inert Acoustic Base plates are an optional extra upgrade.
The above is the spec of my stands

Mine are 4 inches from the back wall but others on PF use the Tab10s in free space, both with great results
Ok, Thank you! In my listening room they will have a bookshelf behind them - about 30 cm - In your opinion is this a good placement?
Good evening and thank you!
I guess no one on this thread can comment on your room layout, home demo is essential.
What I can say is the Tab10 is a versatile speaker and I have seen threads of the Tab positioned on book shelves, heavy mass and light weight stands, close to and away from the wall with glowing comments.
At the Milano Hi fidelity in April I listened to the tablette signature with pre and power Pass Labs in a huge room, it was the best set up of the show, transparent, detailed and refined
An alternative to the falcon and graham

Been guilty of this misdemeanor on many occasions but have rarely been caught short. Certainly seems to add to the excitement
[@mention:45493054099275175] I was there at that fair too, and that's where I heard the Tablette Signature. In the demo they played Rebecca Pidgeon - Spanish Harlem and La canzone di Marinella - De Andrè e Mina. I was really surprised and I'm waiting them to arrive to listen at my house.
Thank you,
Lorenzo

Keep us posted when the Tabs arrive hope they work for you in your home environment
Tbh I would not purchase a brandnew Atom/Nap 100 for these great speakers
If a Nap 200 is in the cards for later investment why not wait, the single Atom should be fine in smaller room at ordinary listening levels.
How far do you have up to Nova level or s/h amplifiers, lots of good combos out there
Hello Perol, thank you for your answer. In Italy for buying a Nova you have to pay 2500€ more than my Atom/NAP. For my budget is too much...
Best regards,
Lorenzo
Hello, today finally I heard the Tablette 10 Signature at my home and I was thrilled for their refinement, cleaning and overall balancement. I decided suddently to buy them with Atacama HMS 1.1 stand (700mm). I can not wait that they arrive!
See you soon!
Lorenzo
Enjoy the speakers and the music Lorenzo!
Ciao Lorenzo, great speakers, to enjoy it for the life and in the future let them shine with an amplifier in class A like the First Watt J2 by Pass, a fantastic match that kills every ambition to upgrade, even with our beloved Naim amps
